Dear, sweet Celestia I'm finally done with this. I have been working on this, off and on, since August, trying to get it close to what I originally wanted. I believe every part of this vector has been redone at least once at some stage or another. I'm still not entirely satisfied with the finished product, but if I work on it any more, I'll likely go insane.
It is a recreation of one of my favorite scenes from Gurren Lagann. The original thought behind it was Kamina, Yoko, and Simon bursting out of their village and seeing Celestia and Luna in the sky. Eventually this idea formed from a similar scene in the second half of the series.
I would like to thank the VIs for putting up with my incessant linking of this project over the last few months. ~Yanoda was a big help when I got to the shading portion some time ago. *Bernd01 gave me an excellent critique of a previous version back in October, and his feedback helped me push past my impatience and continue working on it. I owe this one to you guys .
Due to the tremendous amount of time I've put into this project, I won't be providing my source file this time around. If you're curious how I did something in the image, just leave a comment.
This is insanely awesome. So much work put into it, so much beautiful, fine detail, and all of it is vectored... good Lord, maker, you deserve a bucking medal for this. There, best I could find on short notice: [link]
Indeed, Twilight became the pony that brought reconciliation between day and night, Luna and Celestia. She's allowed them to finally reconnect, just like the 'astronomic' twilight connects day and night. I've always found it quite poetic and beautiful. (And get those alicorn theories away from me, those are hooey and irrelevant here anyway.)
